Summer Fun Begins @ Your Ionia Community Library! ‘Get Creative’ at your library during Summer Reading Program! Registration for all readers begins Monday, June 8! Get ready to sign up for another great season of our Summer Reading Program! This year’s theme prompts participants to ‘Be Creative,’ so we’re scheduling events for children and teens of all ages and interests. All our general family events will be held on Wednesday afternoons at 2 p.m. June 17 — Craft Day @ Ionia Recreation Center Picture Album Online Now! June 24 — Acting Up Theater @ the Ionia Theatre Picture Album Online Now! July 1 — Storyteller LaRon Williams Picture Album Online Now! July 8 — Reading Rocks show by Dynamic West @ the Ionia Theatre July 15 — Free Screening of ‘Tale of Despereaux’ @ the Ionia Theatre JUST ADDED! Join acclaimed Michigan artist Tom Woodruff for a “You Are An Artist” drawing workshop on Monday, July 13 at 6 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Basement in downtown Ionia. All materials are provided by the library. This free first-come first-serve event is open to youngsters aged seven and older. Explore the world of the paranormal with a new ‘Nightcall from the Ghosthunters’ |

The Ionia Community Library will host a visit from Metro Paranormal Investigations on Thursday, September 10 at 7 p.m. in the Ionia Theatre in downtown Ionia. The group will highlight their investigations and reveal evidence from their most challenging case files. This event will include a multi-media presentation, Q&A session, and a high-tech equipment display. This program is intended for individuals 12 and older. Please make alternative arrangements small children. Check back regularly for more updates! |

The Ionia Community Library, in conjunction with 23 other libraries throughout the Lakeland Library Cooperative, will begin offering downloadable audiobook titles online! All you need is your computer, an internet connection, and your library card! Listen to your audiobooks at home or download them to your mp3 player! You can check out great bestsellers and new releases on your own schedule. Keep an eye out as our downloadable audiobook website will debut this August! |
